Attempt and Override Grades

The Blackboard Grade Centre uses two types of grades to describe student scores.

Attempt Grade

An attempt grade refers to the score that a student receives for an actual attempt. An attempt grade could be a score automatically created from a test, or it could set manually, for example by an instructor viewing an Assignment submission and entering an attempt grade. These are shown to the student

Override Grade

An override grade supersedes an Attempt Grade. Most scores entered directly into the Grade Centre Cells are override grades. These are shown to the student even if an attempt grade is entered.
