The EuroCALL SIG for Graduate Students

The EuroCALL SIG for Graduate Students is a very young SIG. It was founded in 2016 during the EuroCALL conference in Limassol, Cyprus, given the growing amount of Graduate students attending the conference and the need to give them at EuroCALL more visibility. Since its inception, the SIG has been chaired by Dr Sandra Morales and David Alfter, with the collaboration of Sahar Matar. We also work closely with our sister SIG at CALICO.

The main aim of the Graduate SIG is to provide support to graduate students in CALL as part of the EuroCALL association. It is essential that students have the opportunity get to know each other in order to build a community. In the Graduate SIG, they can exchange information about their research, share advice about writing their thesis, how to publish as early career researchers, meet established researchers so as to have a personal learning network. Also, our SIG has a group of reviewers who provides feedback for abstracts prior to conference submissions.

Some of our activities will include special webinars on topics, which are relevant to Graduate students, symposia, networking and opportunities for socialization. We plan to report about these happenings during our EuroCALL SIG meetings.

If you are a PhD/MA student, please attend our first ever-Graduate track at EuroCALL 2017 in Southampton, and help us grow and flourish!
