Mohammad Shahidul IslamMohammad Shahidul Islam graduated in Urban and Rural Planning and is a remote sensing specialist with more than 15 years of expertise in satellite image processing and remote sensing applications in land use and land cover mapping, flood monitoring, river and coastal erosion-accretion, water resources management, environment, agricultural crop mapping, natural resources mapping, telecommunication, urban planning etc. He also has sound knowledge in SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) image processing. Mr. Shahidul Islam is involved in Work Package 2.

Mohammad Abdur RashidMohammad Abdur Rashid is working in CEGIS as an Agriculturist and obtained a M.S degree in Agricultural Engineering (FPM) and BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He has also received training on environmental management, crop modelling, IWRM and EIA. He has 12 years’ experience in the field of agriculture planning, crop modelling, EIA, climate change and disaster management.  Mohammad Abdur Rashid is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Waji UllahEngr. Md Waji Ullah, Executive Director of Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) and Member (Honorary) of Joint River Commission (JRC) is leading dynamically the Center of Excellence with a vision to make it an internationally reputed and action research-oriented center. He obtained his M.Sc (Engineering Hydrology) from the University College of Galway (UCG), Ireland, M. Sc. Engineering (WRD) from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand, and B.Sc. Engineering (Civil) from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).  Engr. Md Waji Ullah is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Malik Fida A Khan

Malik KhanMalik Fida A Khan, has the experience to formulate the mechanism for assessing the climate change vulnerability, selecting the critical impacted elements, and quantification of damage due to mega disasters climate, multi-sectoral analysis for impact of climate change, setting up monitoring mechanism of evidence of climate change and climate variability. Malik Fida A Khan is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Dr. Dilruba Ahmed

Dilruba AhmedDr. Dilruba Ahemd has more than 20 years of experience in the social development field. She has worked on rural and urban development projects of UN organisations such as UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, FAO, and for different government agencies (BARI, DAE, BWDB, LGED, DPHE, BIWTA, DOE, BMDA, RHD, PDB, Directorate of Family Planning), public companies (PGCB, GTCL, BSCIC, SGF, BGFCL, PGCL, IDCOL, BCMCL, DESCO, DPDC), international organisations (IRRI, ADB, WB, DFID), multinational organisations (Chevron, Cairn, LSC) and non-government organisations (BRAC, NGO Forum). Dr. Ahemd is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Dr. Maminul Haque Sarker

Maminul Haque SarkerDr. Maminul Haque Sarker is an expert in fluvial morphology and relevant fields- especially in the field of Environment Impact Analysis (EIA), river morphology, predictions of river platform, monitoring the morphological development, planning and execution in the main rivers of Bangladesh. He has developed a satellite image-based erosion prediction system for the Brahmaputra and the Ganges riverbanks in Bangladesh.  Dr. Maminul Haque Sarker is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Anil Chandra Aich

Anil Chandra AichDr. Anil Chandra Aich has been working in the field of soil and agriculture research. He has conducted various types of research programmes on land and agriculture.  He has more than 43 research publications in various national and international scientific journals related to agriculture and has conducted a sizable number of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) under CEGIS.  He has been actively involved in the preparation of master plans (the Haor Master Plan, the Chittagong Hill Tracts Master Plan and the Southern Delta Master Plan).  Dr. Anil Chandra Aich is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Abul Kashem Md. Hasan

Abul Kashem HasanAbul Kashem Md Hasan has a career of 17 years in the field of designing and developing national level Geo-Spatial Database and GIS-based (desktop, web-based) Information System (MIS, DSS). He is an expert in ASP .NET, C#, ASP, PHP, Visual Basic, Oracle Database Server, MS-SQL Server, MySQL etc.  Abul Kashem Md Hasan is involved in Work Package 2 in DECCMA.

Nasrat Jahan

Nasrat JahanNasrat Jahan works in the field of Remote Sensing. He is an expert in satellite image processing, analysis and classification using different sophisticated tools such as Erdas Imagine (9.X-11.0), eCognition, and Arc GIS (9.x-10.10 software). He has also participated as a trainer in different training programmes for professionals of different organisations including the BWDB, WARPO, and the Bangladesh Forest Department. He is Involved in Work Package 2 on the DECCMA project.

Mir Fahim Shaunak

Fahim ShaunakMir Fahim Shaunak has been working as a Junior Specialist at CEGIS. His career is in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS. He has expertise in satellite image processing, image analysis and classification using different software such as ERDAS Imagine and eCognition, DTM generation, Mapping with ArcGIS, etc. He has also participated as a trainer in different training programs (ArcGIS, Remote Sensing, GPS and DGPS) for the professionals of different organisations including WARPO and Bangladesh Forest Department. He has involvement in DECCMA’s Work Package 2 and is contributing to Data inventory and management, map preparation, image processing and analysis, land use and land cover mapping from satellite images.
