Southampton Archaeology Activities Day – Saturday 5th July 9:30am to 4pm

As part of the Festival of British Archaeology we are organising an Archaeology Activity Day at the University of Southampton. There will plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience via free interactive workshops:

• Keeping warm in the Palaeolithic (animal hides & clothing)
• Anglo-Saxon Crime Scene Investigation (burials & human skeletons)
• Explore Maritime Archaeology
• Art on the Rocks (recording and interpreting rock art)
• Human Evolution (fossils and flints)
• Seeing the Past (virtual reality and museums)

The workshops are open to everyone, but are aimed particularly at 13-16 year olds.
