Below is a non-exhaustive list of the highlights and achievements of the Dial-a-Molecule Network:

  • Establishment and publication of the Dial-a-Molecule Roadmap for Synthesis in the 21st Century
  • Establishment of a cross-disciplinary, cross-sector community of over 650 people – Academics, Early Career Researchers, Industry, SME’s, technology developers, facilitator
  • 11 EPSRC funded research grants that align with Dial-a-Molecule (£9.5 M)
  • 4 EPSRC Fellowships (£5 M)
  • 3 EPSRC Accelerating Grand Challenges towards Manufacturing the Future
  • Supporting 6 Proof-of-Concept Awards, each consisting of 3 months PDRA time
  • 18 Open Meetings since 2012
    • 1124 Delegates in total (806 individuals)
    • 53% Academic, 39% Industry (including 11% SME’s)
    • 66 Universities represented (including 11 International HEI’s)
    • 64 Different companies and 27 SME’s
    • Non-synthetic chemical engagement
  • 22 Bursaries awarded to assist Early Career Researchers in attending Dial-a-Molecule events
  • Mobility Funding – 10 exchanges sponsored
  • 2 PhD CDT Students and 2 Industrially sponsored PDRAs from collaborations developed during network events
  • 2 Teaching modules on Statistical Design of Experiments developed
  • New technology to deliver objectives of the Roadmap designed
  • Thematic issue in Chemistry Central Journal
