Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARRSO)
Dr Hafizur Rahman
Dr. Hafizur Rahman is a Principal Scientific Officer at SPARRSO and has a DEA in Physics and Chemistry of the Environment and a PhD in satellite remote sensing. His research areas are quantitative remote sensing of soil vegetation atmosphere system, multispectral radiative transfer modelling of the coupled surface-atmosphere system and Algorithm for atmospheric correction of satellite measurements for RS application. He has developed radiative transfer algorithms for satellite RS application. He has received a Group Achievement Award from NASA. On the DECCMA project he is focusing on Work Package 2, particularly dealing with (i) Land use and Land cover mapping and (ii) Land resource assessment using FAO Global Agro Ecological Zoning (GAEZ ) Methodology over the study area – Bangladesh Delta.
Zahedul Islam
A.Z.MD. Zahedul Islam is a remote sensing scientist; presently working as chief scientific officer in Bangladesh Space Research and Remote sensing Organization (SPARRSO). His field of interest is water related disasters (flood, drought, river erosion and water logging). He is presently working for development of remote sensing based national systems for monitoring water related disasters. Mr Islam is working as a scientist for DECCMA’s Work Package 2; particularly WT 2.4.1: Coastal morphological change (river and coastal erosion/deposition) analysis.
