CAHO Seminars 2012/13

Welcome to the Centre for the Archaeology of Human Origins (CAHO) seminar blog.

This page will display all the information you need to know for this year’s seminar series starting on the 26th October 2012.Ā  TheĀ seminars areĀ 40 minutes long from 5pm every other Friday and culminate in a discussion session and wine reception.Ā  Each seminar takes placeĀ in the Wymer Lab, Archaeology Building (65A), University of Southampton, Avenue Campus.Ā  If you have any suggestions for speakers or yourself would like to speak then please email us.

I am a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Southampton and a member of the Centre for the Archaeology of Human Origins. My research is currently concentrating on hominin interaction to climate and environment throughout the Pleistocene. I have become particularly interested with early human behaviour within the wider landscape, looking at habitat change and resource strategies connected. More specifically my Ph.D. research concentrates on the Quaternary record of Jersey and its connection with Northern France, using the paleoenvironmental record from archaeological sites such as La Cotte de St. Brelade and associated geology. This project is supervised by Dr. John McNabb (Advisor Dr. Matt Pope, UCL & QAEJ) and look to tie this evidence in with behavioural evidence associated with lithic analysis.
