After market research has been conducted the implementation of The Story Of Us application will start. In the following post we will discuss the technologies and tools that will be implemented on the app. The Story of Us make use of Web- and mobile-based technologies for an enriched experience. The use of technologies may vary in later stages depending on the success during the implementation phase. During this phase potential users and a selected group of experts are extensively testing the functionalities of the app.
Each developer will use their preferred text editor such as Atom or Sublime. It is important that each developer is experienced in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python and PHP, etc. Since the architectural system is based on a traditional client-server infrastructure Restful Services will be implemented due to its simplicity, scalability and efficiency. To protect the privacy of our users and integrity of our application we selected Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS). Further, robust privacy is provided through end-to-end encryption. An open-source web application framework is selected to keep developing costs low. At this stage, web application frameworks such as Ruby, Symphony or Django are chosen.
The mobile application will be a hybrid application, a combination of Web and native application. The application will be designed for iOS and Android. The strengths of Hybrid application are that it has a cross-platform approach. In other words, one codebase is written for iOS and Android. From a financial view, development time and cost are reduced since code can be reused from the Web application. Further, it is important to us to keep a responsive and consistent user interface across platforms and devices.
