Our Use of Cookies

Cookies are small text files that store key-value information about the client’s browsing history, user preferences, and searches. They are stored on the client’s device, rather than the server, and record a user’s interaction with a specific website. As a stateless interaction, the use of cookies will provide us with a means of recording the details about our users’ sessions, for future use. Our application will be implementing first party cookies, which are placed by the site the user is visiting and are concerned with locality and user experience. These files can be read by the website each time the user returns, and they allow us to remember the user’s device and how that device interacted with the website. We will use first part cookies in order to remember usernames and password information, so our users do not have to re-enter all of their information each time they visit the site. In addition to first party cookies, third party cookies are placed by someone other than the site the user is visiting and are often used for advertising purposes, but these will not be used on our application.

A cookies policy will inform our users that cookies are being used by our application. Users can find detailed information about the types of cookies our website is using, how these cookies are being used, and how our users can control the placement of cookies by limiting or forbidding the placement of cookies on their electronic device. Any EU websites or applications that use cookies must comply with the EU Cookies Law, which requires a cookie policy to be in place. All cookies policies must contain the same basic information.

·         That cookies are being used on our application

·         An explanation of what cookies are

·         What kind of cookies are in use either by us or third parties

·         How and why we are using cookies

·         How a user can opt out of having cookies placed on their devices

In order to comply with the EU Cookies Law, our cookie policy will begin by letting our users know that cookies are in place and inform them exactly what cookies are. We will ensure that easy to understand language will be used, so that our users can comprehend what the policy is saying. These cookies will appear in pop-up banners, so they will be difficult for our users to miss. These banners will pop up the first time the user visits our website or application and will inform the user that cookies are in use; they will have a link to our cookie policy and request consent to place cookies by including a clickable ‘continue’ link. This link will inform our users that consent will be assumed by continuing to use our application. When it comes to disabling and turning off our cookies, we will provide information on how to do this for our users, and it will be specifically tailored for our application.
