Each year 8 million tonnes of plastic is deposited into the ocean each year, as we as humans are expected to produce and use 400 million tonnes of plastic each year by 2025. This will mean that even more plastic in the ocean each year. This plastic is then eaten by animals in the sea, traps them as they swim, or pollutes their habitats.
