My favourite picture of the trip is this photo I took in the Summer Palace, overlooking the Kunming lake with Longevity Hill in the centre. The Lakes and Gardens of the Summer Palace along with the main building created the most beautiful place I have ever seen in the entirety of my life. I felt like this specific location and photo was representative of the vastness I felt from travelling around other areas of Beijing, which had incredibly wide roads and towering surreal buildings, both old and new. The very fact that the major theme of the image, the Kunming lake, is a completely man made 2.2 square kilometres body of water is a testament to the ingenuity of the Chinese people, which can also be seen elsewhere throughout the places I visited in the City.
