About this course

This course will give you an understanding of the transition between your school or college and studying at the University of Southampton. The information you have found and used up to now, along with the skills you developed at school or college may be different from those you will need during a degree course at university. This online course is designed to help you understand the transition in the context of Information Literacy. You will be able to start practicing some of the skills you gain from the course immediately at school or college to help you with finding information for any independent project work related to your current studies.

In addition the course will help you to know what will be expected of you when you come to study at university.

There are 6 sections each taking between 30 minutes to an hour to complete. Some sections would ideally be studied before your start your programme. Others you could explore now but we would recommend you also revisit them in the future when you will be undertaking these activities.  Some of the resources on this site will need authentication from a University of Southampton username and password.
