ECS Postgraduate Women is a society that was created to form a close-knit peer support network between women postgraduate students in the Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) department at the University of Southampton. The society brings together both Postgraduate Taught Students (PGT) and Postgraduate Research  students (PGR) and provides them with the opportunity to have open discussions about work, lifestyle and culture. The society is an initiative that was started in 2016 by Dr. Su White and Aneesha Sethi to form a long-lasting network of women PG students. Throughout the academic year the society holds several ice-breaker events and plans industrial visits, such as attending Women in Technology Days (WiT) hosted and organised by IBM in Winchester. The group also attended the 2017 ACM womEncourage Conference held in Barcelona.
