Professor Janis Baird appointed as President Elect for SSMPH

Professor Janis Baird

Janis Baird, Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre has been appointed as President Elect for the Society of Social Medicine and Population Health (SSMPH).

The Society aims to promote the development of scientific knowledge in social medicine. This covers a range of subjects, including epidemiology, the medical and health needs of society, the provision and organisation of health services and the prevention of disease. SSMPH holds a UK-based scientific meeting in September each year.
