“Students often join mixed media zines sceptical about how relevant this could be to their degree in medicine. I enjoy supporting their exploration of alternative communication methods, the power of a picture to paint a thousand words and developing their perspectives to become more holistic about health. Often, they also discover the value of being creative for their own health and well-being and the positive benefit that scheduling time to be artistic has on reducing their stress levels and thus increasing academic performance.”
