What are the Intercultural Impact Awards?
The Intercultural Impact Awards Scheme is a unique opportunity open to ALL students currently studying at the University of Southampton. By participating in our Pilot scheme you will be given the chance to help make the city and the University of Southampton a place where cultural diversity is truly celebrated!
Why should you get involved?
This scheme is a fantastic way to meet other students, to connect with other cultures and to expand your intercultural knowledge.
You will be joining a team of 30 students who will act as “ambassadors” for intercultural awareness at the University. In teams, you will develop project ideas to encourage student intercultural interactions on campus and in the city of Southampton itself.
You’ll be behind the creation of new cultural projects and get to showcase them at this year’s Union Southampton Cultural Festival! You’ll be part of a multi-diverse team of students from different backgrounds and cultural experiences, and will gain skills recognised and highly required by global companies.
Training sessions on intercultural awareness and project management will be provided to all students taking part. Through these sessions, participating students will be able to gain valuable employability skills such as:
- Team work
- Project management
- Intercultural communication
- Cross-cultural skills
