An introduction to Oceanography

Discover Oceanography

Lesson H: Oil trap

During this lesson students will consider the importance of clean water by comparing the sediment samples from the two grab sites on Southampton Water taken during the Discover Oceanography boat trip. They will then investigate the environmental impact of oil spills and design and test methods for removing oil from seawater and preventing its dispersal.
