One of Theano’s goals is to help improve the leadership status of females in these selected fields. This is accomplished by inspiring them to achieve success inĀ the areas of engineering, science and technologyĀ and create a positive impact in their communities. Theano’s mission is to develop skills, cultivate professional and strategic relationships and provide inspiration; all of which can support empowering women to achieve their full potential. This can only be achieved by trying to build gender equality and diversity in engineering, science and technology at the University of Southampton. The group aims to promote the:
- Improvement in the number of female UGs and PGs in engineering, science and technology.
- Networking.
- Recruitment, education and career development of all female UGs, PGs and staff within the Faculties.
- Mentoring schemes supporting female UGs and PGs to deal with stress or enhance the working relationship with their tutors or academic supervisors at the University of Southampton.
