If you are a PhD student / Post Doc in a STEM subject and would like to make engineering a more diverse and equal field, WE WANT YOU. Last month, the Royal Academy of Engineering awarded the University of Southampton the Ingenious grant to run a series of engineering workshops with schools located in the 20% most deprived areas in the UK. We are looking for a group of PhD researchers to help build a set of electronic musical instruments to take into schools and show off! The idea of the workshops is to interact with students who are currently underserved to inspire and encourage them to consider a career in a STEM based subject. If you haven’t done anything like this before, please do not worry – you will be fully trained before running any workshops. If you would like to find out more, please come to our information session at 1pm on Wednesday 13/6/18 in 4/4055.
Please contact Andrei Donko, A.L.Donko@soton.ac.uk, for more information or simply come along on the day!
