Dr Hans Schuppe was head of Biological Sciences’ Imaging Facility until 2013 and was instrumental in developing it into the state-of-the-art Facility it is today. The Hans Schuppe Image Prize is established in his memory, and is open to every undergraduate and postgraduate in Biological Sciences. Any image related to biology in the widest possible sense can be submitted (to a maximum of three images per student), ranging from photomicrographs to photographs of wildlife and the environment. The prize for the winner is £100 and for the runner-up is £50. The winning image will be displayed in B85 for a year. The panel of judges consists of Mark Willett, David Barlow, Jake Snaddon, and Jo Bailey.

To enter, submit your image(s) to hansschuppeprize@soton.ac.uk; please provide your name, year, degree, and brief notes with your image. Deadline for submitting images is May 1, 2017; the winner will be announced on July 1 2017.
