Supervisory Team Update Form

PGR Manager (https://pgrmanager.soton.ac.uk/) is showing an overdue task for your new starter […….] – ‘supervisory team update’ on one of the automated lists it provides.  This equates to the ‘confirmation of supervisory team’ on PGR Tracker which should have been completed within the first month of the PhD element of studies and is now a little overdue.

We have investigated what is required and taken guidance below from the supervisor guide:

Your assistance is much appreciated.

Each Supervisor has to confirm the student’s supervisory team in PGR Manager.   You don’t need to add a goal; all you need to do is the following:

  • Go to my research students from your home page 
  • Select the correct student 
  • You’ll be taken to their project page 
  • Select candidature management from the options on the right
  • Select start new application
  • Select Supervisory team update  
  • Select start request
  • Confirm project details are correct​​​​​​​
  • This page allows you to remove existing supervisorsadd supervisors and edit percentage allocations for each supervisor 
  • Remember that the percentage for the whole team should add up to 100%​​​​​
  • ​​​

If any of the supervisors exceed the supervisory loading policy, a rationale will need to be entered 

  • Press save and continue
  • Confirm by submitting 
  • This will now be sent to the relevant DPD for approval
