Educity in Nusajaya provides a very strategic place for universities to carry out intensive sport competitions. This year without a doubt, Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed) was again having another breakthrough by organizing the third NUMed Game, or what so-called the “NUMed Game 2016”.
Let go back to its history side a little bit, it has been exactly 3 years since the first NUMed Game was first introduced. The main objective of the sport event was that to cultivate the passion for sport activities and promote health awareness among the students from different universities in Educity vicinity. More importantly, the sport event consists of various sport competitions ranging from basketball, futsal, badminton, sport of athletics, swimming and many more.
On that day, just about the time when we were usually still lying in the bed, the sport complex was already crowded with highly motivated athletes and supportive audiences. Soon, the first sport competition kick started the whole event. The basketball competition.
The basketball competition began with the two rivals, team from USMC and the NUMed. At the beginning of the game, one of our senior Eugene was totally blocked by the defence wall. The game looked particularly challenging for the USMC.
From the other side, the futsal competition was very fierce. Sea of audiences were cheering and shouting for their respective school representatives, in the hope that they will win the competition. In the end, USMC team outplay themselves by winning the 3rd place throughout the whole competitions. The picture below shows the strong team spirit as they hugging with each other after the dragging race.
On the other hand, without any further delay, the tennis competition just started off. In the meantime, table tennis was also underwent and the competition was tight. Everyone was trying their best to defeat their opponent in order to achieve the victory. The picture below shows our USMC tennis player, Shivank Sharma who is currently the president of the Tennis Club USMC, had successfully secured the second place throughout the intensive competition.
Gaven Yeh Yang, Krystal Lyn Yap Yi, Jaden Chay King and Weldon Wong were among the juniors to represent USMC. They had finished the race and successfully won medals for the sport of athletics competitions.
As can be seen, it was a rather exciting and thrilling sport event between the universities and i am glad that the Monash University, International Medical University and National University of Singapore were able to take part in this event. Furthermore, I am sincerely appreciate the hard work for the formation of this event and congratulate to the supportive team members who were working behind the scene.
