The third episode of our ‘Teaching and Scholarship Podcast’ series, put together by Dr Scott Border, Principal Teaching Fellow in Anatomy (Medicine) is now available. This podcast is aimed at everyone in the University with a keen interest in innovative teaching practice and educational research. It is intended to cultivate our growing teaching community and provide advice on advancing careers.

In the first series we will be speaking to our leading educational figures with a track record of delivering excellence and innovation. We will be talking to them about defining teaching excellence and innovation in education as well as discussing wider issues such as TEF and the challenges faced in improving NSS ratings.

In this episode, Scott chats to James Wilson, who is a lecturer in mental health at The University of Southampton. James is an award winning educator and a leading national practitioner of the innovative use of interactive theatre within learning and teaching environments. Amongst other things, we chat with James about his National Teaching Fellowship and his perspectives on why innovation matters in higher education and how it can lead to teaching excellence.
