The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) provides opportunities for academic professional development (research and education) for all staff across the university.

We achieve this by working with partners across the university to make available a wide range of professional learning activities, ranging from formal courses and programmes, through faculty-based workshops and networks, to the production of resources and the sharing of good practice.  Our aim is to ensure that all professional learning activities are provided in meaningful and contextualised formats, addressing the needs of diverse groups and individuals.

I was appointed to lead the Centre in 2018 and am determined to make it a Centre which supports staff across the university to achieve their potential and in so doing enable the university to achieve its strategic ambitions, despite the challenging times that Higher Education is facing

Shelley Parr – Director of CHEP

Since March 2020 our focus has been to support the academic transition to online and blended teaching by offering as many tools as we have been able.  A brief outline of our Common Framework for Online Education is in the link below but our CHEP SharePoint site holds a vast selection of Quick Guides, video podcasts and further details on the Common Framework for Online Education.

Whether you have a question, suggestion, or just want to meet us and find out what we do, we would be delighted to hear from you.
