University of Southampton

The University of Southampton is in the top 1% of universities worldwide. The university has 23,000 students of whom 6,500 are from outside the UK, coming from over 135 countries. We have campuses in Southampton, Winchester and Malaysia.

The University’s department of Modern Languages and Linguistics offers teaching in a range of languages as well as in theoretical and applied linguistics. We are a thriving research community which is home to several internationally renowned research centres: the Centre for Language Learning, Education and Acquisition Research (CLLEAR), the Centre for Global Englishes (CGE) and the Centre for Transnational Studies (TNS). The Faculty of Humanities is also home to the Academic Centre for International Students (ACIS), a hub for language and cultural support for international students.
