Careers Destinations offer a wide range of services to help students and graduates at any stage of their career journey. Every year their expert team help thousands of University of Southampton students make decisions about their future and provide access to a variety of information including:

  • CV and Application Advice
  • Interview and Assessment Centre Preparation
  • Online Psychometric Tests
  • Further Study Options
  • Internships and Placements
  • Job Vacancies
  • eBooks and Videos
  • Facilities for conducting telephone and Skype Interviews.

They also provide a Resource Centre where you will find access to a range of career resources including a variety of free take away materials and publications.
The Resources Centre is located in the Student Services Centre, Building 37, Highfield Campus, on left hand side of the main foyer.

Need one to one advice?
Go along to the Drop-In service. No booking required!
Open 9:30am-11:30am  Mon, Wed-Fri
and 2:30pm-4:30pm Mon-Thursd.

One-To-One Advice

Alternatively, you can sign up for a mentor who will be in the career sector or profession that you would like to work in. A career mentor can give advice on how to increase employability skills, gain work experience, and where to go for help with developing your career.

Throughout the year Careers keep in contact with a wide range of employers who offer internships and placements over the holidays. It’s a fantastic way to gain insight into the work place and earn money.

Find Internships and Placements

If you don’t feel ready for a placement or you are struggling to get through the application process, there are a variety of workshops available all year round. These can range from CV workshop to interview practice or working with a team on a project.

Develop your Skills

There are also a number of jobs available on and off campus during term-time.
The Student Consultancy is one example where you can develop business skills and contacts by working on an 8 week project for local businesses.
