The first SARTRAC Annual Consortium Meeting held in July 2020 was the perfect opportunity to meet the rest of the team and finally put names to faces! Hearing about the research that all the different work package groups are doing was really insightful and it was a pleasure watching everyone’s presentations. I think it really helped to bring all the work together and facilitated my understanding of what has been done across the project, and what SARTRAC work packages are expecting to achieve over the next year. I most enjoyed the discussions and questions that were raised as it’s interesting to understand the uncertainties surrounding Sargassumand the different ideas and experiences everyone has. It was also insightful to hear presentations from the UN Environment Program and the Sargasso Sea Commission. I hope that next year we can all meet in person and lots more interesting discussions can happen!
