Public policy Southampton invites you to the policy-focused training sessions delivered by Public Policy|Southampton.
These training sessions are designed to support all of our researchers here at the University, and to increase the impact of their current and future research. The first session, ‘Pathways to Impact’, will take place on Wednesday 28 February between 14:00 – 15:30 in Room 2209, Building 85, Highfield Campus.

- ‘Pathways to Impact’ 28 February looks at what ‘impact’ is, where the impact agenda has developed from and what UK Research Councils are looking for from a Pathway to Impact statement.
- ‘The Policy Master Class’ 7 Marchlearn from former Secretary of State and Southampton Alumnus John Denham in this talk specifically designed for researchers with a public policy impact goal.
- ‘Harnessing Twitter to influence policymakers’ 21 March looks at how Twitter can provide access to policy circles, as well as how to present your findings online and identify online influencers.
- ‘How to write an impactful Policy Brief’ 18 April explains what the policymaker audience demands from a policy brief and how you can go about creating it.
- ‘How to identify and influence policymakers’ 25 April explores who the key policymakers are, how to find them, and how to get them to focus on one individual’s research findings.
