The launch of our new Institute for Innovation, Learning and Development (ILIaD) was an ideal opportunity to share some of the work we have been doing recently with MOOCs and Curriculum Innovation. The event was great fun and well supported. The full programme is available here.

The University of Southampton’s Vision 2020 states that over the next few years we will “revolutionise education”. ILIaD has been created to lead on this ambition and help shape the University’s future educational approach.

Below are the slides we used as background for our round table session titled “Disrupting our Education and Research via MOOCs” featuring Kate Dickens, Graeme Earl, Olja Rastic Dulborough and myself:

The slidedeck below supported the presentation titled “Making a revolution is hard work: working together for MOOCs” led by Paula Higgins and also featuring Kate Dickens and myself:

The photo below shows Digichamp Olja Rastic Dulborough with her poster titled “Engaged Student – a Reflection” that showcases the extensive amount of work she does to support a number of digital initiatives and curriculum innovation projects.

This second poster highlights our curriculum innovation module Living and Working on the Web (UOSM2033 and UOSM2008 – now running twice by popular demand!) A third iteration of this module is shortly to begin for undergraduate students based in Singapore – Google Hangouts will replace the “drop in” workshops currently offered to support the module in Southampton. In a future blogpost we’ll let you know how it goes :-)
