Acute vascular response of hand to force and vibration

Vibration

Gao Sh. and Ye Y.

Hand-arm vibration comes from the use of hand-held powerful tools and is the cause of many serious health problems like finger pains and blanching. The article investigates whether and how the application of hand force affects the acute vibration-induced circulatory effects. Findings show that force has a great impact on altering the finger circulation, and different hand forces, namely grip force and feed force, would not exhibit an equal effect. The impact may be due to the compression by force loading. Generally, controlling the force applied on the vibrating tools can help to reduce the exposure to risk in workplace.
