International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSID) 2025 – Catherine de Haas

Catherine de Haas presented at the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSID) Early Career Researcher Meeting, to the special interest research group for people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD) at University College Cork on the 22nd of April 2025. This meeting was both in person and online. Catherine presented in person about ‘Creating belonging around living with PIMD.’ There were PhD students and their supervisors there from around the world. It was a great place to exchange ideas, learn about other people’s research projects and create new connections.
This special interest group will probably next meet in Munich at the end of August 2026. This year the Early Career Researcher Meeting was followed by a Roundtable on the 23rd and 24th April. The Roundtable was busier with more established researchers. The Roundtable was a mix of presentations and workshops giving a chance to discuss each one’s work in a formal setting.
