Dr Vivienne Wrang will be presenting at an upcoming BERA event – Questioning Exclusionary Practices in Education. This online webinar seeks to explore tensions between the individual needs of children and their families and the drive for school improvement, in England and internationally, through three papers that consider the lived experiences of children and young people who, for different reasons, are unable to access education and how exacerbates the situation.
Dr Vivienne Wrang’s paper is titled “Supporting internally displaced people in Nigeria to access education”. This paperĀ adopts an international scope to consider the needs of internally displaced people in Nigeria where forced displacements due to protracted conflicts have disrupted schooling, resulting many children being confined in camps and most displaced children lacking access to any form of education.
