Call for submissions

We are pleased to share that we already received a large number of excellent panel proposals and individual paper proposals. The preliminary programme will be announced soon.

We are now extending the call for submissions to fill a few remaining slots. In particular, we encourage proposals in less-represented disciplines such as economics, health sciences, sociology, and geography.

The call for submissions has been extended until 31st August 2017.

Proposals will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  1. academic quality;
  2. engagement with the conference theme;
  3. contribution to raise visibility of under-represented disciplines in Latin American Studies;
  4. contribution to dialogue between disciplines.

Panel proposals must include:

  1. a clear distribution of roles: chair, paper presenters (minumum 3 up to a maximum of 4), and discussant, with no more than two of these roles be played by the same person;
  2. name and institutional affiliation of each panel member;
  3. a title that summarises the topic and, preferably, points out to its relevance in relation to the conference theme;
  4. abstracts of all papers (200 words maximum each).

Paper proposals must include:

  1. name and institutional affiliation of the proposer;
  2. a title that summarises the topic and, preferably, points out to its relevance in relation to the conference theme;
  3. an abstract (200 words maximum).
