The Biological Sciences Winter Party took place yesterday afternoon in the B85 Observatory.
During the party, three members of Biological Sciences received their Long Service Awards from the Dean, Professor Rachel Mills. Professor Tom Fleming and Dr Bhav Sheth received their awards for 20+ years service and Dr Chris Jackson received his award for 30+ years service. These awards are given as part of a university-wide scheme to recognise those members of staff who have given the university their continuous long service.
As well as the usual mince pies and wine to get everyone into the festive spirit, the party also hosted the Biological Sciences Bake Off. There were four categories judged by Beatrice Murphy; Pastries (winner – Emily Farthing), Cakes (winner – Luke Evans), Desserts and Biscuits (winner – Suzie Milner).
