Dylan Menzies presented a paper <em><a href=\"http:\/\/dafx2018.web.ua.pt\/papers\/DAFx2018_paper_47.pdf\">Surround Sound without Rear Loudspeakers: Multichannel Compensated Amplitude Panning and Ambisonics<\/a>. <\/em>This extends previous work on compensated panning to 3 or more loudspeakers, using an efficient formulation. The comparison is made with Ambisonic reproduction using the same loudspeaker layout.
