{"id":132,"date":"2014-12-16T11:30:10","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T11:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/?page_id=132"},"modified":"2014-12-16T11:30:10","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T11:30:10","slug":"engineering-gdp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/about\/engineering-gdp\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering GDP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the academic year 2014-15, the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton ran a Group Design Project (GDP) as part of the UoS<sup>3<\/sup> project.<\/p>\n<p>GDPs involve undergraduate students who are in their Masters (fourth) year at University. \u00a0The Engineering GDP was tasked to\u00a0start the development of the UoS<sup>3<\/sup> spacecraft bus. \u00a0This includes designing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Attitude control\" href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/cubesat\/attitude-control\/\">Attitude control system<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Power raising and distribution\" href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/cubesat\/power-raising-and-distribution\/\">Power raising and distribution\u00a0subsystem<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Structure\" href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/cubesat\/structure\/\">Structural subsystem<\/a> including any <a title=\"Mechanisms\" href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/cubesat\/mechanisms\/\">mechanisms<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Telecommunications\" href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/uos3\/cubesat\/video-test\/\">Telecommunications subsystem<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition the the Engineering GDP are responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining the spacecraft operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Group Members<\/h2>\n<p>There are 10 members of the Engineering GDP:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raluca Cojocariu<\/li>\n<li>Jonny Coates<\/li>\n<li>Georgina Coles<\/li>\n<li>Mark Coulter<\/li>\n<li>Perry Fung<\/li>\n<li>Joel Galley<\/li>\n<li>Joe Mann<\/li>\n<li>Kavindha Ratwatte<\/li>\n<li>Stuart Reid<\/li>\n<li>Luke Taylor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the academic year 2014-15, the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton ran a Group Design Project (GDP) as part of the UoS3 project.
