How to Say When Itâs Not OK
C-DICE Webinar: by Professor Elizabeth Stokoe
When someone says or does something problematic or offensive, what are our interactional options for responding, right in the moment? In this session, Professor Liz Stokoe will present research findings that underpin practical strategies for saying when itâs not okay â whether you are dealing with sexism or other â-ismsâ or something else. Liz will use examples from actual encounters, recorded âin the wildâ, to open up a discussion about why itâs much easier to say what you would do in these situations, than actually do it, and then present some options and their likely consequences.
Presented by Professor Liz Stokoe, Loughborough University
