Dr. Ghaithaa Manla is the current Co-ordinator of Theano. She is the Enterprise Research Fellow for the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering. Her role is to enhance the relationship between industry and academia to maximise the impact of research on our society and thus the economy. She strongly believes that having a healthy and strong relationship between these separate worlds will ensure that scientific discoveries and technological developments are accessible to the end users who can then further exploit the technology into new products and services.<\/p>\n

Ghaithaa did her MSc in Microelectronics at the University of Southampton before embarking on a PhD in Renewable Energy. During her PhD, she developed her interest in applied research and worked closely with industry.<\/p>\n

In 2012, her consultancy role at the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering offered the opportunity to promote the impact of research across a broad range of industries and turn research outputs into products that help businesses to grow.<\/p>\n

One of Ghaithaa\u2019s favorite hobbies is travelling. She loves nature, historical sites and exploring new cultures. She strongly believes that travelling is a great way of opening a whole new way of thinking. The world is diverse and different cultures have lots to offer in teaching people how to appreciate the life of otthers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
