She is currently a PhD student at the University of Southampton in the Electrical Power Engineering (EPE) research group. She loves reading books and currently she is reading a book by Norman Doidge\u00a0called \u201cThe Brain Changes Itself\u201d, which explains the concept of neuroplasticity through real stories of people who were able to recover mobility after strokes, raised their IQ or overcame emotional disorders. Maria recently adopted a plant-based diet after watching a documentary called \u201cWhat the Health\u201d. She started researching about the unsustainability of the livestock industry and the harm that it does to our planet.
