{"id":31,"date":"2015-07-17T18:09:35","date_gmt":"2015-07-17T18:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/musicemployability\/?page_id=31"},"modified":"2015-07-17T18:09:35","modified_gmt":"2015-07-17T18:09:35","slug":"mission-employable","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/test-media\/mission-employable\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission Employable"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong>Who are we?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mission Employable is a Humanities student-led initiative that was developed\u00a0in partnership with the \u00a0students, for the\u00a0students, during the summer of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to make students&#8217; professional development a priority so that we graduate not only with a degree but also the ability to succeed in whatever field we specialise in. Mission Employable\u00a0restructured the\u00a0Faculty&#8217;s employability activity and make it a fundamental aspect of students&#8217; education throughout their degree course.<\/p>\n<p>The Mission Employable team (which includes student interns\u00a0led by\u00a0Dr Eleanor Quince, Faculty Director of Employability)\u00a0have been working together with the University&#8217;s Careers and Employability Service, student group representatives, and Humanities departments to improve the employability agenda within the Faculty. The project includes: a compulsory\u00a0Faculty-wide employability module offered to first years (being rolled out to second years in 2015\/16); the establishment of a peer mentoring scheme; a Humanities Alumni Network; and a Working Group to facilitate\u00a0student-led employability events for each discipline.<\/p>\n<p>MuSoc, alongside Mission Employable and the Music department at the University, designed an employability event specifically tailored to music students that we delivered in\u00a0May 2015. The event informed our students\u00a0of options and pathways after graduation, and what they could be doing during their degrees to prepare for this.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who are we?
