The past few weeks have been very eventful. I have been meeting different people and associations in Villeneuve and I now got a voluntary workplace at a âCafĂ© associatifâ in the “Centre des habitants” in la Villeneuve.
Since the Fiestas del Pilar, my project has been moving along slowly but steadily. I have been to the local library to research the history and origins of the Jota and have enrolled in a Jota dance class, and attended a couple of lessons so far.
It often happens to me that the answers to my most pressing questions are actually right under my nose. This was the case for my research project as well.
It was a sunny Saturday morning at the end of September around noon when I first made my way to Villeneuve. I decided to just walk through and take notes of what I was seeing and thinking: my first impressions.
