We’ve been playing around with Open Badges for a while now and we have finally brought it all together. Â The new iChamps badge provides scaffolding for learning and student development. Â Made up of three milestone badges all the iChamps are working towards the Official iChamp Badge. Â They will have gained skills for developing their online presence, workshops and the overall partnership working with academic teams across the university. Â Every iChamp has the opportunity to gain recognition for their contribution to the fabric of the university. Â The Institute for Learning Innovation and Development has been working hard to find the right tools for the job and we have opted for the Open Badge Factory. Â It is a simple issuing system but gives a structure for quality assurance. Â Students will be encouraged to display the badges within the Open Badge passport but they could also look at displaying them in their Mozilla Backpacks or other tools such as Red Critter.
