Priorities
- Accessibility: the tool/site must be accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Where possible we will be looking to work to AAA.
- Publicly funded research (UKRI/ESRC)
- The primary audience for this tool are accessibility educators (workplace and academic), many of whom are assistive technology users.
- The site should model best practices to other research groups/teams.
- Budget allowing, options to add additional accessibility functionality (e.g. Signly, for British Sign Language) will be valuable.
- Feel: The tool/site needs to give teachers the feeling of exploration, and discovery – and also the linkage/movement between both the levels of pedagogy (Approach/Strategy/Tactic/Task) and the threads that flow back and forth across these dimensions. Recognising these multiple hierarchies is important.
- Co-design: We want to develop a prototype (accessible), ideally by end April so that this can be tested with teachers in May/June.
- Scale: We envisage 15-20 of each Approach, strategy etc. If it can be set up so we are able to add and develop the content as we go along, this would be ideal, particularly in terms of managing and adapting in view of co-design phase.
