Analytical Photogrammetry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this section we go one step further to learn &#8216;how to extract quantitative information from the Aerial photos&#8217;, which is generally referred as analytical photogrammetry. Specifically, the section explains the geometrical relationships that can be derived between aerial photographs and the ground, height\/elevation measurement, the concept of parallax, the production of stereomodels and stereoplotters.<\/p>\n<p>This is the sixth unit in the module &#8216;Topographic Data Analysis Techniques and Applications&#8217;. In this unit introduce photogrammetry and aerial photo interpretation.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Basic parameters<\/li>\n<li>Measuring Height<\/li>\n<li>Parallax<\/li>\n<li>Stereoplotters<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8216;Basic parameters&#8217; introduces some basic concepts of analytical photogrammetry. It explains the geometry of image acquisition, and issues of overlap between photos in a survey series.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Measuring Height&#8217; extends the parameters of aerial photographs which have already been covered, to introduce the concept of making quantitative measurements of the heights of objects on the ground from aerial photos.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Parallax&#8217; introduces the concept of parallax and demonstrates its utility in estimating the heights of objects on the ground from pairs of aerial photos.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Stereoplotters&#8217; introduces stereoplotters, explaining their evolution, operation and role in the automatic generation of data from aerial photos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this section we go one step further to learn &#8216;how to extract quantitative information from the Aerial photos&#8217;, which is generally referred as analytical photogrammetry.
