Comparison with the healthy tibia

The same analysis performed on the fractured bone was then repeated on the other tibia belonging to the same skeleton, which did not experience any fracture. This allowed to discover the response of an undamaged bone to the same forces that have been applied to the 3D model of the fractured tibia.
The following pictures respectively represent the 3D model and the mesh of the healthy tibia.

The analysis showed that the stress experienced by the undamaged tibia would have been lower than the one in the fractured tibia. If the force applied is the typical one developed in a human tibia during gait, the strain seen in the intact tibia model agree with the value found in any other FEA study on tibias.
