He will work with the SMMI to provide students, academic and professional colleagues with operational insights into innovation, entrepreneurship and management within the global marine and maritime industries. Based at our new Boldrewood Innovation Campus, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/smmi\/index.page\">SMMI <\/a>encompasses over 300 academics and brings together our marine and maritime disciplines across the University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to have someone of Dr Henderson\u2019s vast experience, knowledge and stature join the University and the SMMI as Adjunct Professor which is a first for Southampton,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/engineering\/about\/staff\/ajit.page\">Professor Ajit Shenoi<\/a>, Director of the SMMI. \u201cThis appointment will only strengthen our excellent relationship with Shell Shipping &amp; Maritime, and make it possible for the SMMI to stay at the forefront of thinking and professional practice in the fast-paced and growing world of global shipping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honoured to have been appointed as an Adjunct Professor for such an outstanding faculty within Southampton University,\u201d said Dr Henderson. \u201cThis appointment reinforces the significance of industry and academic collaboration in bringing about improvements to our industry, and enhances our long relationship with this esteemed academic institution.
