Cutting-edge technology developed in Southampton took centre stage at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas.
Researchers and students from the University were among those exhibiting their innovations at the world-renowned trade show.
On-campus business incubator Future Worlds led the University’s presence at CES from 9 to 12 January. Since Future Worlds launched in 2015, it has helped entrepreneurs to launch ground-breaking start-ups, ranging from collaborative research to student projects.
Southampton entrepreneurs gave live demonstrations of three featured products:
- Soton Audio Labs; an immersive 3D audio soundbar
- Aura Vision Labs; an artificial intelligence-powered video analytics platform
- Handy Kanji; an intuitive language app to teach the Japanese writing system
During the show, the University attracted attention from potential collaborators, the media and representatives from overseas governments.
