For the many of you that graduated from the University this summer, this will be the first edition of Southampton Connects Alumni that you receive.
We are delighted to welcome you to the alumni community where we connect 229,000 alumni across 180 countries, sharing our experiences and news and celebrating our successes.
One of the first ways in which you can share your news is to take part in the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE), which is a national survey sent to all graduates six months after the completion of their course.
The survey collects data on what our graduates are doing; whether that is employment, further study, travel or something else.
The survey is important because the information that you give helps the University of Southampton to continually improve our lifelong, tailored careers advice to students and alumni. It also helps to inform prospective and current students about potential career paths.
The results contribute to the university league tables throughout the year and enable us to share the successes of our alumni with the university community.
If you graduated in the summer of 2017, the University will be contacting you between November 2017 and March 2018 to ask you to take part in the survey. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and, by joining in, you will have a chance to win one of four £50 Amazon gift vouchers.
Find out more about the survey and how you can expect to hear from us, on our website.
Last year, we heard from 83 per cent of our students. Of those, 95 per cent are now in employment or further study.
