
The University notched up a number of successes at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Championships in Sheffield. The event, in which 6,000 competitors took part, is the UK’s largest annual multi-sport competition and the highlight of the season for individual sports athletes.
University successes included:
Gold for 2014 Welsh Commonwealth athlete, Elinor Kirk, in the 3,000m women’s indoor athletics;
Gold for the shooting team in the Short Range Rifle title;
Silver for the Trampolining Team in the men’s trampolining, with Rhys Gray also winning silver in the individual men’s trampolining;
Silver for Duncan Robinson for fencing, in the Men’s Epee Individual competition; and Gold in the pool, for the Men’s 400m Medley team in the B Final.
