The National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM)

Based at the University of Southampton, The National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) provides cutting-edge research methods training and capacity building across the UK. The centre runs a diverse programme of courses, workshops and events throughout the year, covering a vast array of topics in a variety of interactive formats.

The NCRM offer over 70, completely free, online tutorials, ranging from beginner to advanced, including topics such as “Advanced Bayesian Methods” and “Introduction to Latent Class Analysis”. Click here to access the full selection on online tutorials.

Education Endowment Foundation (EEF)

The EEF are an independent charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement. They provide some of the most cutting edge evidence syntheses, toolkits and resources from early years up to post-16 education.

The EEF developed toolkits are designed to support teachers and school leaders who are making decisions about how to improve learning outcomes.

National Foundation for Education Research (NFER)

The NFER is a leading independent provider of educational research in the UK. The NFER has a long and successful history of contributing to the development and delivery of international large scale assessments (ILSAs) and benchmarking studies, including: PISA (the Programme for International Student Assessment),  TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PIRLS (the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study).

The NFER Education Trials Unit is dedicated to randomised controlled trials. More information on their RCT can be found here.

The NFER are able to offer training and consultancy on the following topics:  Evaluation, qualitative research, survey research, analysis of large data sets, randomised control trials, reviews and evidence scoping, assessment design and delivery and psychometrics.
